The biggest thing about that changes about Christmas once you are a parent is expectation. I put all of the expectations on myself now. Before, I had expectations that my parents or my wife or my friends would help me have a good time. You know, make my Christmas a blast. Now my sole expectation is that I do everything reasonable (even a little unreasonable) to make the holidays fun for my children. I’d give up every present that I ever was given for one good morning under the tree with my son and daughter.
This is my wife’s favorite shot from the Christmas card session. It is actually an outtake. Which sort exemplifies the fun and the challenge of photographing babies. They hardly ever cooperate, but that is sometimes the very thing that “makes” it.
Christmas postcard photo session gone wild. My 5 month old becomes a cookie thief.
Babies like to bounce.
Zoned out … completely

I decided that Kevin should get to watch the Thanksgiving parade this morning. I took me up on the offer and he and his sis lounged it out in the living room.
